Mark et al-- Thanks for putting this together. I am quite liking my kit, which took four hours to put together, including diagnosing then replacing four bad diodes. (I used lead-free solder, so I was working at high temperature and probably burned them.) FYI for the next round, the bolts are about a millimeter too long, leaving the case a bit loose and squeaky with only the included parts. I assume this was due to the thinned plates. Not a problem for me, as washers will do the trick until I start modding the case, but that was the only thing that didn't work as expected out of the box.
For everyone considering joining the current buy-- So long as you go into it knowing that it might take a while for it to get to you, it comes highly recommended. This kit was everything I hoped it would be. Not bottoming out with each keystroke and being able to customize your keyboard without touching the host computer are great perks to add to a split-handed, columnar keyboard. So far, it feels good, looks good, and works great.
