Is there anyway we can get keycaps up on Massdrop that match the standard QWERTY layer config for the ErgoDox? I really don't want blank keycaps on an unfamiliar keyboard as I'm trying to adjust to typing on it. I can touch type on a non-ergo keyboard, but this is a different beast and keycaps with legends would be worthwhile.

TristorTristor, you could use a P-Touch labeller to label your keys. In the past, I have printed a label for each key, and stuck it to the front of the key, rather than the top.

It could match the black Massdrop key-caps if you got white-on-black tape, like this:

If you want to get fancy, you can buy re-legendable keycaps. See question thirteen in this FAQ:

Or, you could old-school simply harvest switches from an existing keyboard with Cherry key-caps.

TristorHere's a photo of my ErgoDox with hacked P-Touch label legends. It's not perfect, but it doesn't look too out of place, and is serviceable for typing passwords (really the only time I wanted labelled caps). There were a few symbols that were not available on my P-Touch labeller (hat, backtick, curly braces), so I just used different symbols that were close enough for me to remember what they really were.

If you look closely, you'll set that I'm set up with Dvorak on layer 0, with a hot-key switch to Qwerty on layer 3. The Meta keys are for Mac, and the control and symbol layout is the same as my old Kinesis Advantage Pro, minus caps lock. You can see my entire Dvorak-Mac-Kinesis layout with Qwerty 'guest' layer on the Massdrop ErgoDox configurator:

Oh, and due to a lack of homing bar keys included with the ErgoDox, I harvested two of the deep-dish home row keys from my old Kinesis. Deep-dish is not as tactile as a homing bar, but I've now ordered two white homing bar keys from Signature Plastics, and they should look pretty good contrasted with the blacks.
MarfyThat looks nice. If I stick with the blank dsa caps that I ordered I'll have to get one of those labelers. I'm in the same boat since passwords are the only time I look at the letter keys.
