I got my kit (MD-628) yesterday (Tuesday, 11 February 2014). It took me four hours to assemble keyboard (it is my second ErgoDox, I had HEX files ready, and u-dev configuration files for teensy programming in place).
Compared to second ErgoDox drop, this kit had the following advantages: - Better finish on acrylic plates - A hole to allow access to Teensy bootloader button - Rounded nuts for mounting bolts And the following disadvantages. - There used to be left acrylic plate without USB connector hole. - Teensy is presoldered to mounting pins in a way that requires cutting through thick pins.
What would I change in this kit: - Add at least two deep dish keycaps. Signature Plastics has molds for them. - It would be nice to have right angled TRRS cable

ksmigrodSince getting my ErgoDox, I have replaced the TRRS cable with one M-to-M TRRS cable and one M-to-F TRRS cable, to prevent excessive wear on the TRRS jacks within each ErgoDox half. I also replaced the mini USB cable with a longer one.
I do agree your listed improvements are great, and I don't really mind the extra hole on the left half.
