Despite it's specifications, has anyone tried to use this on an Ultrawide monitor as big as 34" perhaps? I have couple of arms similar to this from Ergotron and one is holding up Acer XB280hk monitor while the other one is holding LG 29EA73-P just fine, I don't move much but didn't have any issues doing it either and they also had their specifications but they worked fine and if I recall correctly it's specification was lower than this ErgoTech one considering that came out almost a decade ago.
Would be nice to know these are similar in that regard, any first hand experience will be very helpful :)
UmerFThis is the result of some googling, not first hand experience, because I had similar questions.
If what you meant was Ergotron LX, its tech specs says it will hold up to 25 lbs, more than the Ergotech in this drop (17.8 lbs).
Weights of the monitors you mentioned (without stand):
LG 29EA73-P: 11.5 lbs
Acer XB280hk: 11.56 lbs
Weights of some 34" monitors (without stand):
LG 34UM95: 14.7 lbs
Dell U3415W: 18.6 lbs
Samsung LS34E790CNS: 16.28 lbs
Dell U series are almost always heavier than other monitors with the same display size and it is less than 1 lb over the rated specification. So, I'm guessing most 34" will be in specification.
UmerFdespite the 27" spec in the description this says any device within weight range

priyadiYes, I was referring to ErgoTron LX. I have two of those right now with me.
Good info though, very true. I always liked ErgoTech a bit more because of it's looks even though the functions are identical with weight limits and what not. Seems like you're participating in this drop, mind sharing which monitor will you be using? If you have any 34" Ultrawide that'd be awesome if you can report back later on once your receive it otherwise all good.
Thanks for your input on this, much appreciated :)
spedassoYes, essentially it needs to be in the weight limit. The size of the monitor is merely because of using it in pivot modes and what not to make sure it's all in the arm's length and what not. It's hard to pivot the Ultrawide 29" monitor let alone a 34" so that's the only issue one would run into generally but I'm sure there will be work around for it depending on how and where you will be mounting the desk clamp or wall mount clamp (whatever version you buy.)
Good info though.
UmerFI have the ErgoTeh with a 34" LG mounted on it., and it's totally fine. I even swivel my monitor 180 degreesso I can see it from the couch in my office and it's still going strong.
priyadiNot really, mate. There are quite a few monitors out there that are 34" Ultrawide, I'm using one myself right now but it's 29" and been considering getting on 34" bandwagon with 3440 x 1440p and got my ease upon Acer Predator Ultrawide monitor either FreeSync or G-Sync version as soon as there are good buyer reviews to hear about it that doesn't involve QC issues.

UmerFWhat I really meant is there's no 34" monitor that isn't ultrawide, as far as I know. So, if someone else refer to a "34 inch monitor", then it must be an ultrawide, unless we count TV sets as monitors.
