digitalzombieThe iPad Pro 9.7" is about the same dimensions as the iPad Air 2. That means it is slimmer than the 2,3 and 4.
The main selling point of the 12.9" iPad was just how much bigger it was than any other iPad so it should be obvious that it doesn't fit that model if this was built for older models.

mass_seanIt's a little condescending to tell people the answer to their questions "should be obvious" Massdrop descriptions are often inadequate and/or mislleading. A recent drop for a port charger that had "MacBook Pro" ad part of The device's name was a bust for me when I found out that the device did not work with MacbookPros. People aren't born with innate skills, and it's not all that easy to keep track of iPad model numbers. This is especially in regard to this question because so many have asked it. Even if it seemed crystal clear to you you , you might have noticed it was not so to others, all of whom seem otherwise intellectually competent and unimpaired. To borrow a phrase, this should have been obvious.
Stephen879I am curious to know what port charger drop you are referring to. The only drop I can find with any type of charger or port replicator for Apple is the "Juiced Systems MacBook USB-C/USB Adapters". Also in this drop for the iPad Stand we did list the exact iPad models that this stand is compatible with. The iPad 2,3,4.
The only way that we could make this more clear is to put a disclaimer for the models that it is not compatible with? This is just not feasible or scale-able for us to do this on all technology drops across the board.
I do agree with you that sometimes Massdrop does make mistakes in its copy. I can assure you that these are not intentional and we do our best to catch them before the drops go live. For the ones that slip through we fix them as soon as the error is pointed out.

Stephen879It isn't condescending to expect that people would have :
Read the drop page in full Know which model of a product they possess
The whole concept of human communication revolves around the assumption that people have committed to memory a shared set of information. He asked if the product fit iPads of 2 sizes which revealed that he was aware size differences exist between different models. The compatible models were indeed listed under specs. Any confusion thereafter came from his own understanding.
The irony here is that you accuse me of being condescending when I was actually being blunt.
