Spanish for wasp, the Avispa from ESEE is swift and packs a sting. With a 5-inch handle and a 3.5-inch blade made from easy-to-sharpen AUS-8 stainless steel, it’s plenty big enough for tough cutting tasks Read More
Quick Q for anyone who can help. Pic shows the OD and Coyote with black blades - the two I want. But, no option to order those. Am I missing something?
It doesn't appear that much different than the one they designed for Ontario, the Rat 1 and 2. All made in Taiwan, both available in AUS8 and D2. Good basic knives that don't break the bank and great for gifting. The Avispa is a spear point, the RAT more of a drop point. This deal only saves me -$2-3 over other sites (correction - other sites match this in their advertised price) and is actually more expensive than the Ontario. Be aware that there are a lot of Chinese knock-offs of the RATs. Plus, for me, I'd want the D2 version anyway. Not ideal for gifting to a newbie like the AUS but I'd appreciate the edge retention of the D2. If you don't have either, then, for the low price and small differences, see which one feels better in hand. Or just buy both!
CrunchmeisterThey made the thumbstud flatter so it digs into your finger more than RAT 1; when you hold the Avispa in your hand, the pocket clip in right side tip up position pushes against the lockbar making it hard to disengage.
akapabsThe Esee zancudo is 3" D2. Basically, Avispa is same size as the RAT and the Zancudo is the same size as the rat II. Zancudo feels much sturdier than the Rat II.

THis is a great EDC blade, razor sharp, light weight, great steel for more humid climates, well constructed, a great value !!!!!
PrxlinkIt is not assisted opening, which is good because those are illegal in AUS - you wouldn't know the difference though, great knife. Wish I hadn't dropped mine down a well.
Great value knife v.sharp out of the box with D2 steel. Solid construction, smooth opening with positive frame lock. Can't go wrong for this money. Picked up one on the last drop.
The design of this knife is very nice. I really like how it has a secure frame lock, but still feels easy to open and close. At first I though having scales on one side and metal on the other would bother me, but it's actually pretty satisfying to hold. I would recommend this knife as a cheap EDC that you don't plan on beating up too much in between sharpenings.
typhoonpcWon't take you long to realize their prices are as terrible as their customer service which is almost as terrible as their "expected shipping dates" which for some reason take two plus months to be delivered. Are you familiar with the term shit show??
