The second iteration of the Izula, this model is a more filled out version of its predecessor, with a longer handle and canvas micarta scales. I wish they'd do the Izula II in stainless like the Izula I, but maybe there's not enough demand. Too much salt and humidity where I live to go with 1095.
This is an awesome knife. Ive carried one with me on my belt everyday for the last 6 years. In fact it seems whenever I take it off outside my house if goes missing and I have to buy another. Ive bought 3 now. I still have 2, and izula 1 and an izula 2. I honestly cant remember spending more than $60-65 shipping included on any of them, its been 3 years though since I bought the last one.
Anyways my 2 cents, Its an awesome EDC/ back up survival blade. You could cut a tree down with it (if you had 12 hours and the patience of a saint). I dont leave home without it. I dont know what happened with the price as amazon seems to be $70+ now too, but if thats as cheap as you can find it, its worth it.
*theknifeconnection has it for $62.95 or $72.95 with the kit....so it will depend on the shipping applicable to you if this is a deal or not.
*I have amended my post as boing2003 has made a great point, with the very reasonable international shipping on MD ($6.75) it does work out cheaper than theknifeconnection. I'm not sure how it works out for you folks in the US though?
