Yes i have had one of these for years and the thump stud fell off and I tried to contact company with no such luck , all I ever got from them was run around , so I bought a diffe6thumb stud and have been using it , over all good knife but customer service is very poor
At this point in time, I believe that the RAT-1, or 2, is a much better knife. I don't like the RAT-2 as much as the 1 because of the smaller size. The 1 feels much better in hand. As an aside, this is NOT as Esee knife. It was designed by Esee, but they to not manufacture it.
14themoneyThat makes sense. I've always liked the look of the zancudo and rat II, but the Rat II always gets better reviews in build quality. Reviewers often say it's as though they're made in different factories.
KizerThat's a true statement. They are made in different factories. When I got the Zancudo and the Avispa, I was disappointed- in the action and the feel in hand. If you have not had the opportunity to feel both, I would do so before ordering the BRKs. I still have mine, but they don't see the inside of my pocket, just the inside of my drawer.
I wish a zancudo liner lock version would come out as im not a big fan of stainless framelocks but i guess that would be the rat 2. I am curious how they compare though.
Once again this is a drop that is simply not worth it. Same price for BRK ZANCUDO BRKR2CB, 2.94", STONEWASH D2 STEEL, DESIGN BY ESEE KNIVES, DROP POINT, COYOTE BROWN NYLON HANDLES
at Knifeworks, 2 dollars more at BHQ. Same price for carbon fiber handle at Knifecenter.
I understand that there isn't much of a margin on a budget D2 knife, but please don't waste space on it when you have people wait-listed for knives like the Keen and Dao.
Just wanted to say I love to watch the Cedric & Ada channel (thanks fhood!). Information and entertainment all in one. His steel edge retention chart is a great resource as long as you understand his methodology:

I like to put on his reviews in the background while sharpening.
This is a good price. I have waxed hot and cold about this and its big brother the Avispa. I might take the plunge. Nick Shabazz has a good review on YouTube, as does Cedric and Ada Gear. I also own SW Cutjacks in both sizes which have been noted to be similar. They are D-2 also. So I might wind up passing. During one of my "I really want this knife" periods I watched a couple of reviews which were quite favorable. Much more so than the two I mentioned above.
14themoneyI've got the Cutjack medium in D2 and its okay but its on washers and the action is not a smooth as some with ball bearings. It's also got a tiny bit of wiggle when locked up, but not enough to send it back.
I handled the Zancudo for a bit but eventually returned it because my wife found it too hard to disengage the lock. If you've got thumbs pumped from using flippers all the time you probably won't have any problems. 👍
bookworm13Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I have had good luck (?) with the Steel Wills that I have purchased, the first being the Apostate 1113.
