I found this to be more difficult to deploy (in the store I went to) than the Rat 2, it was a stiff open. Maybe it will loosen over time, plus adjustments and lubrication. I might go for it anyway, because of the price.

GmikeI have the AUS8 version and it is super-stiff at first. Blade alignment on mine also left a lot to be desired. But the blade shape is perfect for me, and the handle is very comfortable. I would think the D2 version is definitely worth a go if you're willing to tinker with screw tensions a little bit and to break it in.

HernardThanks for your comments. The price with a D2 blade is excellent.

Gmike0.5 Micron laping paste will fix this very quickly.

HernardIt's a $25 knife. It's almost irresponsibly cheap. Can't complain about the "smoothness" or blade centering (As long as it doesn't scrape the liner/scale.) It's cheap enough that if you lose it, break it, or if it gets stolen, you won't care.
