They will be working hard to prepare this order for shipment and aim to send it from their location by the beginning of next week. We are currently trending for everything to be shipped out of our warehouse before the estimated ship date of 11/10.

Amazon gives shipping weight as 30 pounds.
Summary of opinions plus some experience: *smoking* deal on a $400 J-205 3TB 60s-style passive J-bass, but you may put another $300 of work into it if you're serious.
Finishing and setup won't be perfect. Electronics could be better. Alderwood body resonance might not be making the most of that low B string. The neck profile is narrow, but deeper than Fender's (a "U" not a "C"). You're not getting a case for this kind of money.
Comparable would be a Squier by Fender in basswood or soft maple with thinner fretwire and a C neck for $350 or so -- actually a much different animal. Late to the party, but hope this is useful to some.

Most places are selling this at $400. It does have open tuners but I own a fender with some and never had a problem unlike my guitars. It has a fender tapered neck which I find the most comfortable. Considering the price you could drop in new pickups if you had to and still be under retail. Seem like a solid deal if I had the money I would buy one.

MoondoughI crawled the web and the only thing substantial I could find is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNqzgukCKYs www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gJHkvvqNac
Still for $179 I'm all for it. I'll change what I don't like...
