ares347Not really. ETA and Eterna were one single company, not one owning the other. Then, for economic reasons, they decided to split the company in 2 and sold the movement producing part, called ETA - which is a contraction of Eterna-)
Mine says hi, 13 years old already and looking sharp as new!

AleskbIve always been curious about that so the current ETA movements were originaly developed by Eterna or they designed new movements after it was sold?

ares347You can pretty much draw a straight line from the ETA 2800 calibres like the ETA 2824-2 to the Eterna-matics from the 1950s and 60's (Eterna 1541 and even older 1411) Since then of course, ETA has produced a range of newer movements.
