3 purchasers needed. That could be tough. Too bad it didn't drop a couple of months ago during Christmas shopping season. I think that this is a very nice watch, with the caveat that women seem to be fine with quartz, and a little annoyed with having to set and wind a watch. From the Eterna website, this cute 38-mm lady's diver:

CloacaQuartz is more accurate, but a good quality mechanical movement only needs adjusting once every few weeks, usually only by a minute. An automatic watch is also called a self winder, so you only need check the tension every few months after the initial manual wind. Quartz need batteries too, though there are solar powered movements, which is something I find interesting. Mechanical last hundreds of years and still keep time. For women's watches I prefer Cartier, the workmanship is impeccable and they are a work of art, not simply an accessory.

SDanteIf you only have one watch, and you wear it every day, it's not much of a hassle. My wife has a dozen watches, so she has to wind the two automatics I gave her, giving me the side eye, every night. When she forgets and has to set the time on the watches, one with a date complication, she's even less happy. Watches are just jewelry to women, and they don't want to be bothered maintaining little machines.

CloacaAll the more reason wrist watches were invented for women, they treat them as a trinket. Swatch make some nice quartz crystal watches that look just as nice as this Swatch, which are probably more suited to her. Honestly I don't know why she doesn't leave them on an automatic watch rest so they stay wound. You should buy her one, they are pretty cheap. An everyday watch, a going out watch, a countryside watch, a city watch, a formal watch, a 5 star venue watch, maybe some thing for other events, but anything more is unnecessary. I do have a nice 19th century ornate pocket watch I'm selling if you like old key wound pieces

Cloacawhy do you think 3 purchasers will be tough? Are you saying this watch is overpriced at $1100?

guisess93It only needs one more, so I was wrong about that. Maybe the drop will go through.

SDante"Honestly I don't know why she doesn't leave them on an automatic watch rest so they stay wound." That's such a guy idea. "Give her another machine."

Cloacayeah. But do you think this model is overpriced? Or at $1100, it's fair enough?

guisess93I don't know about the price, since I'm not in the market for a gift watch this year. In general Massdrop has decent prices. When people complain, it's over a 5 percent difference with Amazon, or worse, with some website you can't really trust, or eBay.
