It is a very nice watch from a traditional swiss manufacturer (owned by a Chinese fund, but still making watches in Switzerland) with their own caliber, GMT and 65 hours. Although I promised never to buy a watch again (way too many) I couldn't resist to join the drop :-)

Yes. Of course it is unreasonable for a shop to provide description of the item. The pictures are of a bronze watch but the description is a copy and paste job from the standard watch. So really the onus is on the consumer?

eulerSadly, yes. MD seldom gets the details right (frankly almost never), so if you're interested in the straight scoop, you're best off getting it on your own, when possible from other sites--and then sharing it with other users here. Point being we have dozens of guys asking for info on every drop and only a few guys who search out the facts and supply it. Become a supplier ;- )

MarPablThanks for the pictures! I still am trying to have confirmation ; is this a so-called "True GMT"? See a past post I made for an explanation.

I wonder why many say it is to big. I have a very small wrist 18,5 cm and it fits well. I´m owner of a rare prototype modell of the Royal Kontiki Date, but it has the same size of the "GMT". The design of this watch is a homage to the 1976 Royal Quartz Kontiki, and not to a IWC Ingenieur. I think more important is the lug to lug size, than the real diameter of the watch.

Hello, believe me in Europe its small. I have to put out 4 pieces of the bracelet and it fits loose. If i want it tight, i have to take out one piece more and with 5 pieces out of the strap its more than small. When i wear watches with leather strap, i have to use the last whole or the second one.

The modell Kontiki Date are prototype samples, they were built for the Baselworld. There were 3 strapes for this modell, leather, rubber and the metal. For the produced modell (Royal Kontiki GMT and Chrono) you only can get metal or rubber strap.

THis is a GREAT watch. an IWC ingenieur killer. Great fit and finish and nice inhouse movement. If you like it, buy it. Great price also.
