How do these compare to the HF3? I have a pair that I bought in 2014 that I've recently started using again with the triple flange tips. Previously only used the foam tips. They sound better than I remembered. Very detailed, bass is there but not emphasized.
sucram65They’re a few steps up their tier of models. Still mostly neutral/flat (especially the Studio Edition SE), but more articulate.

sucram65Yeah, me I like flat response for headphones. This way i can compensate for my own hearing, or if I'm running subwoofers in the room or not.. Having a flat response is easy to tweak. So, if im sharing with someone, i can apply an iso compensation for a general human, but use the same headphones for my specific hearing. Having curves and "targets" outside of the target for flatness i feel is dis-serving. Practically anyone can apply an eq'. I know ety claims they go after target too.., I rather have the instruments reproduce whats put in, without coloration, and leave the tweaking to the computer devices or electronic equipment. That's just my preference though, and i could be in the wrong camp. =) But for accuracy and preferences, my bro's hearing is going to be very different from mine, so were going to have to eq anyways, simplest to go from a flat-line, and have the computer do the individual compensation, not the fixed hardware, imo and i think the whole targets thing is a farce to cover up short-comings in reproduction.. Afterall, my hearing can be very different then the ISO standard for "average persons hearing", so anyone tuning could be, no WOULD BE tuning against me, or practically anyone else. Cheers.
