Nick0MD isn't an authorized Etymotic dealer. They are like a third party found on Amazon. Warranty is typically dealt with MD, which is not the same as manufacture warranty. For $299 at authorized sources, it's better, all around buy. Not much to argue or discuss around the known topic. Like others have posted, not a great deal at all with the very little price difference and a huge delivery time difference (days vs weeks).

For us here in Australia at least, still a decent deal even if not massive markdown - they are same price on Etymotic website with current sale (and an additional free set of tips), but the international shipping via other sites for Australia is very expensive - was quoted about US70 for shipping to Aus on Etymoyics website!

Danzor - after a bit of back and forthing, I decided to cancel my order as a bit of "protest" vote at the lack of responsiveness from Massdrop generally on the discussions these days, and on warranty queries particularly. Decided to pay the extra AU$50 and buy via Etymotics authorised Australian retailer Pacific Ears (https://www.etymotic.com/where-to-buy-online), not worry about any warranty issues and get the product a month earlier.
For US customers - just as cheap to buy officially via Etymotics website with their current sale, plus you get a free set of spare earbuds AND with proper warranty by buying direct from Etymotics.
More than anything, just a bit disappointed by the lack of responses or engagement by Massdrop staff to conversations and queries on drops these days. They used to be so much more responsive, and a much more active and frankly engaging community of staff. :/
