How do these compare to the normal Give-N-Go boxer briefs?

chrise524Comparison between the normal Give-N-Go Boxer briefs: • The difference is in the body fabric and the cut/pattern of the fabric. • The fabric on the Sport Mesh is lighter and more air permeable (meshy). Meaning it feels cooler to wear and dries quicker after washing. It is also slightly more fragile and vulnerable to pilling where it makes contact with your winter pants (in my experience, the quads(this is a cosmetic annoyance and not much else 10 months into mine)). • The cut of Sport Mesh Boxer Briefs is different specifically around the penis and testical region. It cups the testicles and penis snugly but gently, they don't rattle around. This is most noticeable when walking or running all day. In the normal Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs the groin region is more roomy (floppy) and less ergonomic. I find my penis slinging down one side of my thighs and being a nuisance having to re adjust with my hand a few times a day. Whereas in the Sport Mesh Boxer Brief my penis is kept pointing upwards (limp) comfortably all day. This it my preference. And my personal experience wearing both styles of the Exofficio Boxer Briefs in daily rotation for 10 months.
TL:DR Sport Mesh is a more snug fit for your cock-n-balls while being more breathable. Standard Give-N-Go Boxer Brief is more of a free balling experience while being made of a sturdier textile.
P.S. I have both 6" and 9" 9" doesn't ride up and feels more secure. Downside is it feels marginally warmer in summer and is more weight and more fabric to dry after washing. 6" feels freer and lighter to wear but subject to minor rising up the thighs. Less weight and bulk packed and dries quicker after washing.
Photo of mentioned piling after 11 months now (could be removed by one of those piling cutters but haven't tried yet, haven't felt the need):

HubeyDoobyDoothank you very much for sharing your experience and insights with regards to hiking and how they "hold you junk " :P this actually was a main purchase point for me. it seems they would very much reduce chances of chaf down under. sweet. i'm in.

HubeyDoobyDooAre the waist bands on the Sports brief as high as the standard? I find the standard waistband too high and have to fold them down twice. I'm 5'5" so maybe I'm on the shorter side. I do find the Standard S on the large side.

_rayI'm 6'3" and the 'Give-N-Go' model sit abnormally higher on me too, so you're not alone, don't worry! The waist band on the 'Sport mesh' model is 1 and a half times lower than the 'Give-N-Go' model. So you might find it comfortable worn as is (they're both size Small) In the photo I aligned the bottom of the crotch area on both boxer briefs.

Stone_MaNAs you mentioned chafe, I should note that I'm very slim and my thighs don't really rub. The design of the textile used in these boxer briefs has a rather loose stretch. It doesn't go out of shape, but it doesn't hold you in as say a bike short would. People with thighs that rub should expect the shorts to develop mild piling in the contact area.

HubeyDoobyDooI have a pair of these and wore then for two weeks in Alaska. My thighs touch. I'd describe the wear as a heavier then mild. So much so I'm not going in on this drop as I don't really trust these for long term durability. That being said, this is significantly less than I paid for my pair.
