Product Description
Thanks to high demand, EZ Rekey has combined a few of its most popular products into one all-encompassing kit. Designed for anyone from beginner to advanced lockpicking enthusiasts, it comes with a bevy of practice locks, extra pins, top springs, and a stand to get to work Read More
The pinning tweezers are the only thing I would consider useful in this set. They can be bought for about $10 individually.
A pinning mat is not included with the set, which is another VERY useful item that is relatively cheap.
From the seller: We are adding a USB flash drive to this kit which contains the same ebooks that are on the 2 disks. Most newer computers and tablets have no CD drive so this addition gives buyers a second method of loading the books.
Would anyone here recommend this as the top kit for a complete beginner or is there another kit offered here (or can be requested) you would recommend. I already bought a kit of picks from here, I just would like a practice kit like this to get started.
Thanks for any help.
Although it doesn't do circular key sets, for $115 it's a good price for a live practice device. Now I wonder if you can actually re-key your house using this ? I'm already up to 8 pin locks, but practice makes perfect.
caseofthegundaysThis is an excellent kit for any beginner because the two locks included are both rekeyable (EZ Rekey), meaning you can start practicing lock picking with a lock containing a single tumbler if you want to, and then work your way up at your own pace. The included instructions make it easy to master the rekeying process within minutes and you don't need tools to do it. The stand makes practicing comfortable and convenient. Hard to imagine a BETTER kit for beginners, in fact.
From the seller: It's not made clear in the description, but this kit includes a Kwikset and a Schlage cutaway 6-pinned EZ Rekey style lock (2 locks in total). Both locks can be rekeyed any way you wish, using the 32 bottom pins (6 in each lock as it is delivered plus 20 more extra pins in a packet). Rekeying requires NO tools and no previous experience.
