I know what the user manual says But they both have the same cree lamp. If the 160 can take the 14500 and boost the output to 500 lumens just wondering why you couldnt use the 14500 in the 300??? The 300 appeal to me is its longer length but I would like it to be as bright as possible even if that meant putting in one 14500 .

ltgemthe 300 uses two batteries. most likely it can not handle the volts from two 14500 li-ion's in series. you never want to mix li-ion's with any other types of batteries as well.
