What’s the grit number of the two sides?

CromatI know, its almost like the manufacturers go out of their way to keep this info secret. Diamond micron rating is not exactly the same as grit rating but DMT says their 25 micron is about 600 grit while Canadian sites lists it as 800 grit. The ceramic 1 micron is equivalent to 14,000 (!) grit.
Funny, I just bought a EZE-LAP diamond sharpener and the retail package gives no indication of coarseness (super fine) or the grit rating (1200): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RL83NG/

CromatI got one in the last drop... The coarse side is really coarse. So 600 would be probably accurate. It took off a fair part of a test knife I tried it with. The other side is much finer. Over 6000 grit easy.
As mentionned though, it's hard to determine grit, as they really aren't measured in the same way. At 14$ though, you can't go wrong. I paid 17$ from the last drop. :/

Illinois_knife_guyWhat's the size? The last one I bought and it was very small. Also I am not impressed with it at all. I suck at sharpening, but then I read the back of the package and felt much better know it wasn't all my fault. Quote, "The use of a fine flat diamond stone will keep your knife in service for most tasks. For a razor sharp edge " go out and get something else. HAHA!

oneWadwThe DC3 is 3", the DC4 is 4" long. "For a razor sharp edge, finish the sharpening with a ceramic stone." Since the stone has both a medium diamond side and a fine ceramic side I don't see why you need anything else. When it comes to sharpening, I'm faster to blame myself instead of the stone. Especially since I've seen youtubers use the crapiest stone they can find on Amazon and then get a knife arm-hair cutting sharp.
