I bought an A1 model from amazon last year. I had a problem with the blade on my 3rd day of a 40+ day wilderness survival course. Contacted the company by email. They all but accused me of trying to pull a fast one over on them. Then accused me of abusing the knife (the "survival" knife). Then they asked for proof of purchase and said if the vendor was not on their tiny list of authorized dealers that they probably wouldnt honor the warranty. At which point I sent 1 final and unpleasant email to the company telling them what they can do with the remainder of their day and logged into amazon to purchase a Tops BoB knife for the rest of my course. The A1 felt much better in hand, but I could baton wood with my BoB without the edge bending. I could have just gotten a miserable employee cooresponding with me and my A1 couldve been an oddity defect (general consensus in camp was it was genuine vg10 since it didnt rust, but the heat treatment was off), regardless I wont spend another dollar on the company.

T222T222Why are you contacting them regarding your warranty anyway? Contact the people you purchased it from first.. This is why i enjoy having actual consumer rights in Australia... that would 100% be the responsibility of the store you purchased from over here.
I'm not surprised they told you to go jump TBH, you cant expect to buy an item like that from the cheapest Chinese vendor you can find online and then just expect warranty service no matter where you are..

CatpantsAmazon only has a short warranty window. I didnt purchases it from the cheapeat chinesse vendor. It was bought amazon prime. Sadly amazon isnt on their list of approved vendors.
Anyways, In america a seller has a limited warranty window where the item can be returned and then you are pushed to the manufacturer to fulfill the obligationof the warranty. Even LLBean and REI no longer warranty items indefinitly.

T222T222Similar thing happened to me but with an S1 on the first day using it. Genuine blade. Stuck the tip into a block of wood and the point shattered off. Clear dark line in the steel at the break. Their answer was to grind a new point millimeters shorter and hand it back. Didn’t even try to match the belly profile. My take, these blades are not worth the price with service like that.

ModestProposalIm glad I didnt bother sending them my blade then. I was so aggravated as their response I just got a new one and tossed it in storage. Well its a lesson learned. My TOPs and Esee blades are ugly compared to the A1, but I hear the customer service is outstanding. Fact is, after years, I still havent had a reason to contact them.
