I am disappointed with this knife. I own two other Fällkniven knives (A1 & F1) that are perfect. The S1 I just bought shows imperfections on the spine that are creases in the metal. Neither of my other two show anything like this; both have smooth finishes. This was purchased as a Father‘s Day gift which makes it more displeasing. I would return this knife if I could. The photo shows the crease. It is not a scratch.

If you want a tool that won't let you down rather than a flashy knife "with all the bells and whistles" - look no further than the Fallkniven S1. I fave both the f1 and s1 and have since got rid of all my other fixed blades, and have no desire to buy anything else because these two are just that good. F1 stands by for emergencies but the s1 domes with me anywhere it's allowed to go. Be it motorcycle camping, farm work, gardening, or anything you can imagine... The s1 is my sidekick. Only one change I could possibly imagine would improve the s1/f1 and that's if the protruding tang was attached to a butt cap for better hammering of tent pegs. Be warned: an s1 will end your knife buying habits because it's really all you need outdoors. Now to find that perfect chef's knife...
