Set in a future where geek culture and entertainment have been banned, Fanhunter: Urban Warfare is violent, ridiculous, and full of fun. The evil tyrant pope Alejo has established a culture of boredom and sloth, but a certain group, The Resistance, is having none of it. Trained by countless hours of video games, action flicks, and comic books, The Resistance is (theoretically) prepared to fight back. But the standoff will be all but easy with Alejo’s powerful police force standing in the way. Made up of detailed miniatures (feel free to paint them!), zany plot missions, and comic book–like artwork, David Esbri’s game challenges the conventional norms of board game design—which may be why it’s been so highly reviewed by gamers around the world.
