I recently received these cables and wanted to type up a review.
Build: - The cable's build quality is "good" enough. From the Neutrik adapter up to the Y splitter is a black twisted nylon that first impressed me. After using it for about a day I found myself having to untangle the cable more often than I could care for. My recently purchased balanced M1060 cable from ImpactAudio never run across this problem. You can avoid this problem by wrapping up the cable using the included velcro ties. +From the Y splitter to the headphones the cable is wrapped in black heatshrink plastic to the headphone L/R connectors. - Speaking of the headphone connectors; i'm not terribly impressed by them. The connectors don't easily snap in like the OEM connectors and feel like I'm having to push them into a tight space.
Sound: - Going from my Jot's SE to balanced plug I noticed the lower end (bass) tightens up and that there's more separation on the HD650's. Sub bass isn't as bloomy as it was before and it sounds like the mid hump recessed slightly.
Personally, I think it's a great improvement to my HD650's sound but iffy on the purchase. For the previous price of $35 I would of said these are great. For the price of $70 it's really a stretch. In the end they do what they're supposed to do. Provide more power to each channel and in turn improve some aspects of the HD650s.
