These are the qualities that make this pen awesome: 1. the machining of the titanium is top notch--no galled threads, over tightened torx heads, sloppy seams where the body meets the ends. Titanium is hard to machine, so this is awesome.
2. the bolt mechanism will last forever--this mechanism for retracting and presenting the cartridge is probably only superseded by a fixed cartridge design with a screw off cap for durability. Any clicky mechanism will break with time, and unfortunately this is the downfall of my Tactile Turn Mover and Shaker pen also purchased on massdrop.
As a slight side note: That clicky mechanism (also shared with some kara kustom pens), while designed and manufactured in germany, functions by means of a complicated network of slots cut into a rod through which a tiny single ball bearing about the size of a ballpoint pen ball slides up and down through those notches, allowing for retraction and presentation of the cartridge--I can't really explain it verbally because it is so complicated. That tiny ball bearing can be lost, or can itself deform the metal of the clicky mechanism rendering the pen useless. The ball bearing being forced and wedged against the shaft and sleeve of the clicky mechanism is the only thing that holds the cartridge out when the pen tip is exposed. If you drop the pen on the pen tip, the clicky mechanism is toast. (the machining on the body of the tactile turn, is however equal to this pen in tightness of tolerances).
3. this pen is titanium and it's made in the usa. The other titanium pen offerings on massdrop look pretty cool, but they aren't made by a dude in the usa. This pen doesn't cost much more and is american precision manufacturing at its best for a reasonable price--that feels good in the pocket even for a chinese american customer who doesn't really have a problem with china.
