I got mine today. This is brighter than my three d cell battery mag light. If this was dropped again I would buy three more. Thank you mass drop.

I been EDC this exact flashlight, I tread it like garbage. I have tossed it into rivers in Costa Rica at night, I fell on it multiply times skating, I even drop it in friends' beers at bars when I am bored. Still works great, might not be the brightest thing out of the one battery flashlights, but it is a pretty solid little guy.

I have the fenix LD22 (2AA) version and been using it as a edc while at work the past 2 years and it held up very well. I dropped it a bunch of times and probably went through 60 pairs of enloops in it. Thinking of picking up 1 or 2 LD12s for a nice small single AA flashlight. Convenience of AAs > CR123A/14500, unless you really NEED 400+ lumens in a small flashlight.

DanthraxI EDC the Zebralight SC600w MKii L2 now (with 3600mah NCR18650G battery) so just felt that I would be at a disadvantage carrying a single AA light, for the reduced output and runtime (I can do 162 ansi lumens for 13 hours). The SC600 MKii L2 is 2.5mm shorter than the LD12 and it's body is only 3mm bigger in diameter so I'm not sure how much I would notice the lighter LD12 clipped to my pocket. My motto is, it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. For this I like the extra capacity and brightness of lithium ion, especially 18650's. If I were to go to a single "AA" light it'd have to support 14500 to hopefully bridge the gap, plus I already own a lot of Sanyo 840mah 14500 batteries :) I'll keep my eyes peeled for a tiny tiny 14500 light and maybe give it a carry and see if I miss my Zebra.

Ya i've been hoping to see a light with a more powerful power source on here. But I don't really know, or have researched enough to create a poll.

Lu_eIf you want to splurge on something nice you should go for an 18650 flashlight. The Nitecore P12 is a solid choice, you can get them for $50 shipped off Ebay. It looks slick and is a 950 lumen EDC flashlight, so it's quite small as well, though a bit larger than the Zebralight (which is $95 mind you). Quality rechargeable battery and charger runs you about $30 extra, but it's worth the cost, you'll rarely have to charge the battery anyways.

Can it work with 14500 Lithium Ion batteries?
EDIT: Found the answer, no :( http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?335180-Fenix-LD12-Review
