The Ferrari Scuderia FXX looks more like a speedometer than a watch, which isn’t shocking, as the company has a knack for creating bold racing-inspired timepieces. Set into the textured dial are two subdials, one that tracks 24 hours and another that tracks the day Read More
rootduckIt's even funnier than that. The fxx isn't the typical "my dot com just went public" entry level Ferrari. The fxx cost 2,000,000 GBP when new which would translate to over 3 million us dollars at the exchange rates of the time. And you couldn't just buy one. They only made 30 and Ferrari selected who had the opportunity to buy one. You didn't get to take it home, Ferrari kept the car and maintained it and would ship it to the track when you wanted to use it along with a team of technicians to record telemetry data and look after the car.
I'm sure this $60 quartz watch measures up though.
AleskbThis is not a good analogy because Smarts are actually made by Mercedes; only their looks are made by Swatch. A good analogy to a Smart would be a watch with, say, a Patek Philippe quartz movement designed by, well, Swatch. This here has a $3 Chinese movement, or a Miyota at best.
