I don't see why are these knives SO expensive. They do look great so far, but they are WAY too expensive. I mean what else could a knife do for you ? make your breakfast ?

diablo-proA lot of times if you have to ask you wouldn't understand anyway. Why do some people spend $3-4K on a semi-custom Nighthawk or Ed Brown 1911 pistol when an $800 Springfield Loaded will be 80%+ as good. Why do people buy a Rolex or Omega when a Timex keeps better time at a fraction of the cost? We as humans make emotional decisions based on what excites us: refinement, style, tolerances and fit and finish, exclusivity, materials, durability, innovation, reputation and history, and the like. Nobody *needs* to commute in a Porsche when a Honda Civic will get them there more efficiently. However, that is the beauty of living in a free society: we can pursue the objects of our passions and feel satisfaction and joy in them.
