They're known for exceptional quality at staggering prices so what's it mean when they release a product and declare it "A Masterpiece"? It means you're getting high-end mobile amplification for low-end prices. From its elegant design to advanced features like variable gain, crossfeed, and bass boost, the FiiO E12 makes a clear and positive impression on all listeners.

Perfection from The Inside Out

Featuring a classic OPAMP circuit, the E12 uses an OPA1611 and LME49600 combo to deliver pure amplification with near .000015% sonic distortion. As a test, we plugged this into the line out on our X3 and attached a Beyedynamic DT880 600ohm. On its high gain setting the E12 powered our 600ohm monster without issue. The FiiO E12 also features smart recharging over USB power. That means the E12 automatically boosts your normal 5V USB power to 14V for quicker charge times. Finally, its black brushed aluminum case, satisfyingly resistant volume knob, and tastefully bright power LED make for an aesthetic as impressive as its performance.

Advanced Features

Beyond the smart charging, extensive power output, and sleek aesthetics, the E12 has advanced features designed to please all audiences. Enjoy headphones but the left and right channels are too polarized? Hit the Crossfeed switch and enjoy channel mixing without the need for speakers. Looking for more bass but your player's eq is lacking? Turn on the bass boost and enjoy your kickdrums with subwoofer strength. Got some hard to drive high impedance headphones? Awesome! Move the gain switch to +16db and you're good to go. All in, this aluminum clad, powerfully elegant amplifier definitely deserves FiiO's "Masterpiece" title.
