As a Fiio E18 user, I would not recommend this product. Its a good product, but when you tie it with a phone using a rubber band, it makes a noise, and I believe that that issue was never really solved and it happens for all product (a reason why Korean distributer of Fiio did not decided to bring E18 to Korea)... so even if it has a good sound, you can't really use it portable . Also, I had a driver issue. So, supposely, you get a driver simply by connecting it to your computer. That worked for my old computer but for new one, that did not happen. So I tired to fix it but, I could not because you can't download driver online. If I could go back to past, I would not have bought E18, but instead I would have bought Fiio E17, a DAC and portable amp that has as good sound quality with no issue.

PiggyPI do agree that back to back with a phone is a problem. but I put the phone in one pocket, the amp in another and just forget that the TSA just groped my man-junk.

PiggyPI have had the E18 for over a year and I would agree with ALL of PiggyP's comment. The isolation on the E18 is terrible. If you are planning to use this with or near a device with cellular ability look elsewhere. It can be used with a cellular phone or tablet but they must be in airplane mode for acceptable use. Fiio is a great company with some amazing products (E12- Monte Blanc for instance) but the E18 isn't one of them. And yes I have used this with Samsung S3, S4, and the S5 active; works well with all of them IN AIRPLANE MODE.

Chowderhead72I have never had this issue with my LG G4. I get text messages while listening and they come through with no extra noise.
