I am not impressed by the audio quality. My Soundmagic pl50 have a cable issue so I decided to try the Heavens, but they don't compare. They also turn out to be uncomfortable.
My main complaint is with the clarity of the sound when listening to anything non-electronic. They seem great for listening to hiphop and electro though.

KaeligSome genres definitely sound better than others. I found acoustic to be pretty good. But like you said, electro, hiphop, pop and such are winners. Also a little EQ can fix such problems, if you're into that.
Changing the tips to smaller ones really helped with the comfortable factor. At first I used the stock size tips and it really started to hurt my ears (they were sore the following day). But once I went a size or so lower, the fit was awesome and the sound got better since I was able to get them deep into my ears. I may even go a size smaller to see if that helps bring out the sound.

KaeligI'm just getting to listen to mine but I agree that you should try going down a size on the tips. The soundstage is pretty good, some songs sounds really good and textured but others are "muffled" right now. Genre doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference to me. My guess so far is that they may be unforgiving of the mastering done. Early impression: worth the price probably, not worth the wait. But I'll keep listening.

SemicolnUsing a quality dac may help bring out the mid range/detail and clean up the muffledness. I don't have any suggestions though.

SegaGen3sisI'm using them with the stupid Apple lightning dongle with my iPhone 7 atm. I think technically it should be a good match since the dongle has a low output impedance.

SemicolnIm in the same boat here. But I'm using them on my mbp and hifi tidal streaming. They sound better then what I heard on YouTube lolol. The dongle doesn't really make a difference IMHO. But I do hear a difference when going from IPhone to MBP. Anyway, Im gonna keep using them and see if they open up more.
Also, the ear tips bore size seems a little too small to me, compared to other IEMs. A bigger bore size may actually improve the quality of sound quite a bit.

KaeligAll drivers sound different if you only know one iem and thats all your used to and are going to like you should just buy those again also its really easy to repair audio buy a hakko soldering iron and brass brush tip cleaner and tip cleaner paste(buy only hakko brand the other stuff is crap and will disolve the tip metal) hakko tips are very high tech and have metal layering and design others dont, dont use crap tip cleaner on them. I wrote a long soldering guide in the HD6XX thread but youll have to dig for it. Soldering is about replacing solder. You can buy cheap occ copper silver plated upgrade cables from aliexpress for cheap I wrote a guide on those on the ostry kc06 or whatever discussion. Good luck. If your looking for clarity just bite the bullet and by a Chord Mojo you will thank me when you have it. Or get an Oppo Ha-2SE if your an ESS Sabre fan.

iCeOL8TRAmnesiaI totally agree with you @iCeOL8TRAmnesia! The sound signature of the Soundmagic PL50 seem to correspond the best to my taste. I have 5+ pairs of earbuds/IEMs at home priced from $20 to $500 (custom) and the Soundmagic seem to be exactly what makes my ears happy. I bought the Heaven because I'm hopeful that at some point a pair will feel better than the PL50 in the ~$100 price range. Unfortunately it's not doing it for me. Note that the source I'm using is a SMSL iCon amplifier on an iPhone.

SemicolnAny chance you've an Etymotic - of any ilk - to compare yours to? Kind of the benchmark for single BA, that these are setting themselves up against. Slightly tempted by this drop, your experience w/ delivery pushes in the opposite direction. At least the RE00s were much cheaper... ;-Þ

lugerI own the Ety HF5 and I like them better than the Finals so far. I use the larger triple flange tips and find them to be more comfortable with better clarity across the board. The Finals have a bit better bass presence but I don't find the HF5 to be lacking. The HF5 also seems to be more forgiving of the mastering.

SemicolnSounds like the 'contender' looses on decision in the eight! OK, how about the 1More Triple Driver - had the chance to listen, or have you bit and actually bought? I'm liking my Xiaomi Hybrid Pro quite a bit, a little sloppy in the bass [better than the original Hybrid, though] but otherwise not much to complain about. If you have the 1More - or the Xiaomi - how does it/do they compare to the Ety HF5 - or the Heaven III?

lugerSorry, I've resisted the 1More triples so I can't speak to those. They seem like a FOTM to me right now, I'm waiting to see if they have any longevity.

SegaGen3sisThe audioquest dfly reds+tidal+phone/laptop make a good pairing with these. The black doesn't really help it all that much. The red improves the soundstage by a lot, keeps the midrange emphasis, but also makes the treble sparkle a little. I'm getting the monster foam tips too; thanks a ton for the suggestion!

raaj.gsThanks for the suggestion! A dac is something I'm definitely looking into atm. Yeah, the treble is definitely laid back compared too everything else. Also when there is too much going on the clarity is kind of low as well. Which is why a dac is something I want to invest in! Heard the Dacport Centrance dac is better then the audio quest dfly red and black. Too many to choose from...

SegaGen3sisI agree on the clarity..The first song I tried on the heavens were "Electric Feel" by MGMT; lots going on in the song and I hated how it sounded on these. But I've warmed up to the warmth in these the past week :)

SemicolnFOTM? Well, the Amazon reviews go back just about 1 year, to February of '16. FWIW, there is actually a little sale on them ($85) right now at Amazon. They seem to hold up physically and acoustically - by many accounts. For now, I'm holding on to my shekels, though. Too much fun still with the Koss electrostatic earmuffs... ;-Þ

lugerI'm warming up to the Finals myself. Considering the Tennmak Pro because they are so cheap. I'm not willing to drop another $85 on IEMs right now, they aren't even my thing. Next IEM will probably be something big like a Noble. I'm tired of messing around in the cheap-fi range.
