I just received my Sonorous VI. It sounds quite inferior to my Pandora Hope VI from last year. Hopefully, break-in will make them equal. Right now, the Sonorous VI has a harsh, exaggerated treble, recessed midrange and weak mid bass. I could not stand to listen to it for the 30-50 hour break-in period. I may just put on some music and let it play off my head for a few days. I don't understand why manufacturers don't believe or care about break- in. They could break them in at the factory before shipping. Everything has a break-in period from cables to electronics to speakers and the customer gets the worst sound right out of the box. I would like FAD to respond to my comments.

WobulaterI have a similar impression in the first 10 hours: harsh treb, recessed mids, unbearable after a few minutes of listening at a reasonable volume (via a decent Audio-GD dac/amp and Spotify HQ).
Instrument separation, soundstage, build quality, and comfort all live up to the hype but the aural fatigue makes this thing unenjoyable. Will break it in over the next few nights but I'm not particularly hopeful. Will try the Shure 1540 pads also (and the Type B pads when they come in).

huyhongI did try three different Shure pads from the 840, 940 and 1840 on a Shure 1840 when I had one pair of each model. Each sounded different due to the grill cloths or meshes all of which appeared to be thicker than the Sonorous VI earpad mesh. I look forward to your experiment. I hope FAD has not changed the design from the Pandora VI to the Sonorous VI and they will sound the same after break-in. If not, then there is a serious problem with the Sonorous VI.
