BradNewmanth x00 they hit so hard and deep. doesn't matter which subgenre of edm....from deep space house, to trap, to house to trance to progressive....soak in the bass if you're looking for more, mmm, "accuracy" i'd say the FAD, you do lose bass but gain in accuracy/soundstage etc. thx00 are bass head friendly but you do lose detail here and there.

OnePunchManDid you use any amplifier with X00? For this level of headphones, you need to add amps and dacs to control the sound. However, last time when I AB my Denon D7100 with X00 using Mojo as the amp and source. I found X00 wins on both detail and soundstage. Therefore I do not think this final audio cans can win over X00 on details.

AlanbitionYes, you need a dac and an amp for the thx00, but you don't need any amp for these cans, with only a good dac or even a good DAP these cans are all good, which give them a huge advantage in price and going out. Also after I tries th 900, a2000z, hd7000 and 7100 and these sonorous in Japan, I can confidently say that the hd7100 is the worst of them in clarity and mid due to the weird coloring. The sonorous has the perfect mid and treble with my ak120 ii and mojo combo. Th900 lacks enough coloring which I don't really like about. Don't know about thx00, but I heard it tends to be focus more on bass which makes me dislike it more.

sunnygyunActually the amount of bass in X00 is less than D7100 and th900. The goal of X00 is to balance the V shape sound of Th900. I think people regards X00"bass heavy" because it might be their first Fostex headphone, if they all compared with th900, they will see how balance X00 is.

OnePunchManThanks for introducing me to deep space house! New favourite genre. I've gone to so many festivals! I love almost all music. Heres the list in no order of what Genres I like at the moment: Deep House , DanceHall , Trap , Electro Swing , PsyTrance , Heavy Metal , HipHop, Rap , Rock Reggae , Older Rock (Like Jimi Hendrix) , and Soundtrack music.
IF ANYONE WANTS TO HELP ME, FEEL FREE =)
Would you recommend the Foster TH-X00 over any other headphones around that price range? I am a basshead but I wound't mind balanced either. I think I prefer a V-Shaped but IDK. I'm going to be exclusively using them at home. I hope they drop it next summer because thats when I can afford it.
Source FLAC Files/Spotify/Soundcloud -> Schiit Modi 1 -> Schiit Magni 1 -> Foster TH-X00
Here's an example of Future Funk:

I've seen Griz 5 times :)
Thanks! Brad.

BradNewmanTBH, I think the Fostex TH-X00 might be perfect for your genre preferences. AS SOMEONE WHO HAS NOT OWNED THE TH-X00 (but own the V-Moda M100's and the Sony MDR-7520's), from what I've read, the Fostex's bass response is amazing. I'm listening to the track that you've linked on the M100's (a headphone that primarily excels at EDM), and believe that the Fostex's bass response and mid-range texture will be ideal for you. The M100's have a sub-bass boost, whereas the Fostex's bass is raised above neutral across a broader range, centered at a frequency higher than that of the M100's, so it would be better for Deep House in general. I will be getting the Final Audio Design - Sonorous / Pandora Hope VI's by early- to mid-March. Would you like me to comment about those when I get them?

EddyGThanks for taking the time to write that! Yes please! I can't help but love the way the Final Audio headphone look. I found someone on craigslist who might sell me his Fostex TH-XX. He still hasn't responded to meet up :(

BradNewmanI have received the FAD Sonorous VI's, and they're a very energetic-sounding pair of headphones. The balanced armature architecture gives it a very smooth, strong treble and midrange, and the dynamic driver fills out the bottom end very well. These headphones are by no means "flat". The bottom end is, as far as I can tell, a bit north of neutral, but not greatly inflated. The bass decay is NOT the fastest, but is punchy-sounding enough for most situations with fast bass attacks. It does not intrude on the mids whatsoever. I listened to the track you previously linked to this discussion page (Good Times Roll // GriZ x Big Gigantic) and can tell you that with the Sonorous VI's, your genres will sound drier and leaner. This issue may be exacerbated by your Amp/DAC (i.e. Audioquest Dragonfly v1.2 known to be drier and leaner, but when I switched to my Creative Sound Blaster X7 LE, it was much warmer sounding). Simply said, in a toss-up the TH-X00's will mostly likely be the headphone you'd want to go with. In a macroscopic view, the Sonorous VI's aren't an extremely detailed headphone. It won't be able to retreive as much micro-detail as, say, the Sennheiser HD 600, 700, nor 800, but may be on-par with the HD 650's (from my estimates). However, it will sound much more detailed than the V-Moda M-100's and slightly more detailed than the Sony MDR-7520's. By my observations and others' reviews, I believe the Sonorous VI's to have better, more articulate highs than the Fostex's, but the Fostex's to have a more dynamic bass and a smoother and warmer sound signature, more suitable to your listening. If you wanted better mids and highs for, say, classical music, or for a more balanced, detailed sound, I would definitely go with the FAD Sonorous VI's.

Alanbitionlmao. Typical fostex fanboy. "I read comments". If you don't own both the cans then stfu. You really think your 7100 is good? So dumb. Sonorous vi is THE BEST closed cans in 500 usd range and thx00 isn't even the best for its own price range. X00 is natural? Are you fucking shitting me? Have you ever tried a single pair of natural headphone before x00? I bet you didn't cuz if you did you won't claim x00 is anything near natural. Also the x00 never has better detail, clarity nor soundstage compares to sonorous vi, no matter what set up you got. The fostex is basshead and you think its better simply because you lack experience in headphones and are a basshead.
