I have this amp. All the naysayers talking down the balanced output, you have to hear it. This amp sounds better than most if not all my other portable amps. The air between instruments is beautiful and open. I have the Xduoo XD05 and while it's much more powerful, the fireye has better sound quality. I just wish it had a bass boost like the Xduoo. For $159, you can't beat it. It's $20 less than what I paid for it...here.
Also, it takes time to burn in. When I first got it, i thought it wasn't very good and immediately spent all my time on the XD05 which I bought the same week. After a few months I went back to my fireye and noticed "holy cow this thing sound open and clean!" I've rarely gone back to the xduoo, and I like the xduoo a lot. It's bass boost is really good.
Talan7Do you have any other amp comparisons? I also have the XD-05 as my only amp ever and I am always curious as to how it stacks up against others. I really like it and it gets such high praise, but I don't really know how it goes against say Magni 2 or O2? What about this Firestone exactly is better than XD-05?

i_want_all_the_tacosIt sounds better than xduo, but only in balanced outp. You need balanced earphones. The soundstage is wonderful and open. It's not very powerful though, really just for iems. I have mojo as well and pioneer xpa700.
Talan7Ah ok that helps clear things up. So for single ended use, would say the XD-05 and this amp are about the same?

i_want_all_the_tacossingle ended, get the xduoo, or creative soundblaster e5. Soundblaster is more versatile.
