No comments from anybody that purchased it in the recent drop? Here's mine - I'm using it in the single-ended mode (the normal 3.5mm headphone jack) and find it very good. The details, the quality and the separation are all good. The device itself is compact and has good heft to it. Strong and well made. If the device could convert the singled-ended signal to balanced signal, it would be a killer feature. But on this portable unit, what has been achieved with sound quality and features is very impressive. A good buy!!

RM44RM44 I have this amp. The single ended jack can accept a regular 3.5 TRS plug and (if you have a balanced set of headphones) a 3.5 TRRS plug. If you plug in the TRRS in the front jack, it only works with the toggle set to balanced. Don't know why Massdrop doesn't state this feature, because it is pretty important and makes this amp even more versatile.

smanSee my posts below, from your comment I dont think that it can't convert a single ended signal to a balance. I believe tha's what the adapter is for, if not it would make no sense. I think it can't convert a signal from the single ended input to balance, but if you use the provided adapter it would. Unless you tried an can confirm.

Pierre111I am so sorry. I meant the single ended OUTPUT not input. That's why I mentioned headphone use and not hardware use. Sorry for the confusion.

smanNo I'm sorry, you post make total sense, my answer should have been more for RM44 responding to ''If the device could convert the singled-ended signal to balanced signal, it would be a killer feature'', so my apologies, wrong guy.
