Walmart has the same fitbit model on sale for $25 bucks
Why is the drop so cheap this time?
Hazard89
Technically, the drop isn't cheap as it's only $2 off + free shipping. According to https://www.fitbit.com/flex you can get a Flex for $39.95 right now but the new Flex 2 is also out - so someone is probably trying to clear their inventory by doing a $2 discount. Especially since it's limited to only 32 units. Other places like Best Buy and Amazon may have them priced higher, I've seen them listed between $40 and $80, but getting a Flex from the manufacture is only $39.95 + shipping (fitbit.com only offers free shipping if your order is $50+).
I just hope...it's not the same vendor as last time. Check out the comments below about counterfeit devices!
this is the first product i have ever purchased from massdrop. and if this is an example of how this is handled, it will be the last.
Hey everyone.
Thanks for flagging this with us. We're currently working with Logistics to figure out what exactly happened here and how these got into our shipment. If you're getting any errors about counterfit Fitbit's please reach out to Support so they can figure out how many snuck in and can start fixing this.
Thanks for your help and patience while we resolve this.
Wow, even though I didn't participate in this drop, I heard about this on reddit. I really hope massdrop fixes this. There should be no excuse that customer service is busy, this is top priority. I really hope they fix this for you guys; otherwise, I don't know how much more shopping I'll be doing on this site.
@elimelendez, any insight you can give on what's going on?
Is anyone else having a problem with there Fitbit when trying to connect it to anything and it's says its an unauthorized Fitbit and that its counterfeit
Kyle.H
I was also unable to connect and notified that it is counterfeit.

Same I bet you the retailer they bought this from was not legitimate so I just hope we can return it

Any word on the units that were sent being counterfeit devices? Fitbit is offering no assistance citing that Massdrop is not an authorized vendor.

Great news group! The vendor has let us know that the group's order was picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 12/1. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 12/2 or sooner if something comes up.
We are in contact with the vendor and awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled first thing tomorrow morning and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse. We will update the group as soon as these are on the way.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 11/25 or sooner if something comes up.
Thanks again for joining the drop with the community. We submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband shortly after the drop ended and they have begun preparing it for shipment.

Wanted to submit my own review. I've owned mine for about 5 charges, so more than a month. The battery life is great, but can suffer if you don't wear it every day. I normally do, but have left it at home a few times when rushed and that seems to reduce the battery life. The sync is slow, but that's because of the battery-conserving bluetooth protocol it uses, so I don't consider that a negative. Charging is easy, and I try to time it so I can charge at work when I'm at my desk and not missing steps. I am somewhat big boned, so the large size is most comfortable with only one upsize spot available. Guys with really big wrists may need to find something different to house it. The step and activity tracking has been great, but at times the GPS over-does the mileage. This has only happened once, but I got nearly 10 miles out of a 3 mile trek. I blame my smartphone though, because it's where the GPS comes from. I've never had any trouble with the charging contacts, but my skin is very dry so that may help. I would think putting some dielectric grease or vasoline on the contacts would help prevent that when you return it to the band. The cup of the band does tend to collect gunk, so plan on cleaning it every so often. The process to switch to sleep mode can be sensitive, but the vibration is quite strong so it's hard to miss. This also makes the alarm very useful. It's much more noticeable than my S4's vibration in any pocket. It would be really handy to be able to use it's vibe alert along with call/text alerts on my smartphone. It's a battery drain, but would be so useful. To the guys, it's a great conversation starter. Just saying. I've probably had 3 women ask me about it already. Most of them have already had their own comparable device, but I'm very surprised how often it gets noticed. It's extremely light, and never gets caught like some of my bigger wristwatches.
@cel6425 The Drop page says you get one of each size, small and large.
Do we get two wristbands in the drop?
I pre-ordered the Flex directly from Fitbit before it originally released a few years back and have been wearing it more-or-less continuously since. It's a nice little piece of tech, but there are some serious drawbacks.
1. The app is garbage. It's really slow to sync with your Flex when you open it. It also doesn't talk to Apple's HealthKit for those of you that live in the iOS universe. (I originally used Flex with an Android device, and that app was worse, but I'm sure it's improved.) 2. The thing goes into sleep mode really easily. Clap your hands? You're sleeping. 3. This is the worst part: the contacts on the Flex pick up crud and require pretty regular cleaning or the thing won't charge. I have to get out the alcohol swabs about once a month, and just last night spent about 15-20 minutes scraping gunk off the contacts with toothpicks just to keep the thing alive.
Having said all that, it's really nice and light. It's unobtrusive (which I want) and simple. It's also got battery life for me of just under a week or so. The step tracking is very smart. It is rarely fooled by extraneous hand gestures (even when worn on my dominant hand), and it even does a pretty good job of tracking my steps when I'm not swinging my arm much, like when carrying things or pushing a shopping cart. Lastly, even though it doesn't connect to HealthKit, it does connect to nearly every other product or service. I use MyFitnessPal extensively, and the two play very nicely with one another these days.
I'd say if you're thinking "maybe," go for it. Just know what you're getting. And try not to be depressed when you're reminded that you've spent all morning sitting on your butt.
davemacdo
I have Fitbit One, which doesn't have issues with clapping @davemacdo is referring to, but I pretty much concur with him on application being a garbage. It does look nice, but that's as far as it goes. It takes ages to sync anything. Event if you are not syncing it takes ages for application to load data. That said, these devices are neat and a great push to get you moving, if you indeed need that little push.
Am just a geek and I like knowing more information about myself. :)

Does this come with TWO wristbands as the information seems to indicate? One each of large and small? If so, then wouldn't it be a much better deal than offered elsewhere? 2-for-1 price? Or am I missing something?
"2 wristbands (small and large)"
Best Buy is selling it today for $74.99 with free shipping in black, grey or pink. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/fitbit-flex-138328
does anyone know the color?
Can it show time?
Xandos
Since it is the flex model, no
Even at this price, I see no reason to get this. I had one gifted to me and I can say it is one of the most useless device I've ever seen. The only thing that this device does which your phone doesn't is vibrate on your wrist. Save yourself a good chunk of money and get a fitness app on your phone (google fit counts your steps just as well as this thing does) and something like Sleep Cycle if tracking sleep quality was a selling point for you. This will amount to a grand total of......... 2$ ! Don't let fitbit run with your money
Sequoia
If you are actually active, you'll find that carrying your phone with you everywhere isn't remotely practical. You're not going to run a race, or play some competitive sport (baseball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, basketball, etc) while carrying your phone. Plus, the FitBit software adds additional features that may not be available in your app. Lastly, this device is water resistant - something most phones are not. When you are all sweaty, playing in the rain, or even if you don't take it off while you shower, you're not going to want to be handling your phone. Finally, this has a 5 day battery life. Setting your phone to track with the same level of detail will almost certainly cause additional battery drain on a device that probably already lasts less than a full day on a single charge.
Not saying these are perfect ..or even "worth it" for many people - but to claim you can "just use your phone instead because it's just as good" is ludacris.
I've been told now that my order has been cancelled and that I will receive a full refund. Tried to make contact with Support but no one is answering my emails.
My tracking number says it's been delivered. But it hasn't. Massdrop said my order is on back order! Told them again about the tracking number and now they haven't replied to my emails! Quick enough to take my money though!

I got my Fitbit sport in the mail today. I am disappointed to see that it was a USED product.... I was under the impression that it was new.... And how I can tell its used is my the rough shape of the Bo's and scratches/ worn places on the Fitbit. ... Sigh. Let's hope it works at least.
