I would love if this included the laptop versions of the bag. Would love a 13" laptop version of this drop.

T3slaThe basic model Kanken actually does hold a 13 inch laptop. I had bought one for myself through REI (a coupon + extra discount made it cheaper!), and it fits my laptop inside of a carry case without any issue.

CmcarusI don't believe there is a built in padded compartment though :/

CmcarusI'm pretty sure you have the Kanken 13, not this; the original. There's no way you could fit a computer in a case in the slot of the original kanken, unless it was a macbook air, maybe.
I have the newest 13 inch macbook which is just about the same depth as the air, and it barely fits with a hardcase on it. I have to squeeze it in and it stretches the fabric a bit, definitely not meant to fit the computer.

brikkyYou may be right; although looking at the Kanken 13 on Fjallraven's website mine doesn't look like it. Mine does not have a laptop compartment or a extra padding on the shoulders. I got mine from REI - I think it's labeled as the Kanken Daypack. It was also MSRP the same price as this one. Perhaps it's a slightly hybrid model in between the Kanken Classic and Kanken 13? I have the newer Macbook 13" and it fits perfectly easily with a neoprene case into the main compartment of the bag.

CmcarusI wasn't talking about the main compartment, though. I was talking about the pocket against the back of the pack where the foam 'seat pad' is stored, as the original poster was asking if there was a laptop sleeve/compartment.

brikkyIts good that you gave feedback on the size of the seat sleeve because I considered getting this and placing my macbook air but I don't think it would be cushioned very well and be hard on my back. Not to mention if I forget to gently place my kanken on the floor my macbook air would get dented...
