Fjällräven Övik Backpack or Shoulder Bag

Strong enough for the trail yet stylish enough for the city, Fjällräven’s Ovik line of packs is constructed from G-1000—an eco-friendly, tightly woven, quick-to-dry blend of cotton and polyester. Each pocket is secured with brown leather straps and metal buckles, a nice complement to the wind- and water-resistant exterior. All bags in the Ovik series are adjustable, padded, and compatible with laptops, too.

The main bag in the drop is the Ovik, which is great for slinging over the shoulder thanks to its slim form factor and 15-inch zippered laptop compartment. It also comes with two front pockets, a pen holder, and an adjustable strap. The backpack-style Ovik 15L is more spacious. It can hold laptops up to 13 inches and has 15 liters of space as opposed to just 10. Throw your valuables into its small, dedicated zipper pocket. The largest of the bunch, the Ovik 20L is modeled after the 15-liter version, but has larger side pockets for added storage.

Founded in 1960, Fjällräven—Swedish for “Arctic fox”—was inspired by a young man’s treks in the mountains near the small town of Örnsköldsvik. Dissatisfied with the gear available at the time, 14-year-old Åke Nordin began making framed backpacks in his basement using his mother’s sewing machine, and later expanded to tents. Today, the company applies Åke’s commitment to functionality, durability, and dependability to a range of products.
