Has to be one of the worst build quality headphones around imo. Headband snapped within a year just from simple daily use.

GeorgeyYou might want to go with another model. The Listen. Better build, these are my portable pair, using it at home, in the bus, in cafes... You can twist the headband a lot without damaging it.

GeorgeyI was thinking to join the drop, but after some reading, It seems quite a few have headband cracks / defects. Now i'm not sure. I want a new pair of headphones to replace my daily use of "JVC - HA-SZ2000". Any advice on something "better"?

Th0rZer0Literally anything on the site right now....
what's your budget?
personally, with whats offered on the site i say it's a toss up between the hifiman or the sennheisers, both are great for the money, i personally like the hifiman headphones a tad bit more, they are more comfortable to me and the built quality is amazing imo.

TheIzzardKing300$ is my budget for some new headphones. I prefer closed back headphones due to noisy computer with too many hardrives. And with really good bass. Otherwise i ain't too picky. Use Sound Blaster X7 for amp/dac.

Th0rZer0my personal top picks for your requirements would be the monoprice monolith m560,mr.speakers mad dogs, ath-m50x or the ath-msr7,sony mdr-1a, beyerdynamic DT770 pro at least 250 ohm, fostex th-x00 mahogany, lastly the ESS RLM-713 just to throw in an oddball from left field....just meaning the brand isn't even a third well known as the others i mentioned, nothing wrong with that, doesn't mean a bad product, just a smaller company.
one of those should be the one you end up going home with imo, also personally i've found the $300 price point to be kinda strange, alot of the headphones that i really end up liking miss that number for some reason, it's like the $200 ones tend to be more or less just as good as the $300 but not as good as the phones in the $400-500 range, so when i tend to either buy headphones around the $200 price point or the $400-500 price point if that makes any sense, i know it sounds strange it's just what always ends up happening when i have $300 to spend on headphones, i end up only spending $200 and keeping the rest or get frustrated and just scrape another couple hundred together for something truly special.... but not every situation calls for a $400-500 pair of headphones, for work i wouldn't blame you for not going there...basically what i am saying here is when you are pricing these out don't assume something like the beyerdynamics are crap because they are a good deal cheaper than some of the others on the list, i personally think all of the headphones on the list are excellent headphones that lean towards bass, i left v-moda off my list precisely for that reason, i just don't think they are worth the money even if they were discounted below that of the beyers....
and remember to do some shopping around, prices can be had a bit cheaper than whatever a quick search turns up and if you save $120-130 out of the $300 you were thinking about spending you can pick up decent little amp for that to go with 'em.... I'm considering the little bear p7 myself right now as a cheap little amp to experiment with, looks kinda interesting and have heard good things about it, beyond that you could snag a little dot I if you have a desk job...i really don't know what you own already or what you are doing over there, just something to consider, something like the little bear P7 will not only power your headphones better than say a phone or some computers but it'll influence the tone a bit due to the fact it's a tube amp..just something to consider.
hope that helps in some regard, remember to do your own research and auditions, this hobby is far to subjective to take ANYONE'S word for it.

GeorgeyJust curious - did you make a warranty claim and what was Focal's response?

HuJianI didn't, as even if they were fixed the headband would break again sooner or later. So I just got a pair of beyerdynamic 880's instead.
