Product Description
It sounds crazy, but this 3.9-inch-long flashlight can put out up to 1,200 lumens for 2 hours. That’s a whole lot of power in a compact frame Read More

Mine came without a battery thought the posting said one would be included. Did others have this experience?

If MD brings back the 900 lumen version of this light for the same price as before ($26.53 after tax in CA), then I might go for it. For that price it included a rechargeable Lion battery, which made it a good value. I prefer to charge the battery directly through the micro USB port in the battery than through a port in the flashlight. The 900 lm light also has a better IPX8 rating. Including a port in the 1200 lm flashlight is presumably what dropped the IPX rating to 6. I don't think it is worth paying about $15 more after tax for a few hundred extra lumens. 900 is plenty bright. I got one here and it has been dependable.

Urge you all to file a complaint against Massdrop and Folomov. Everyone is having the same issues with this light. Massdrop won't protect its customers on this defective light. http://www.bbb.org/greater-san-francisco It only takes a few minutes. If we all file we can at least get a replacement or a refund. BTW, this light is now available for $24 on other sites!

I’ll stick with my Lumintop Copper Prince. 1000 lumens is plenty. And you can’t beat the looks. This one offered here just inspires “Meh!” 😕

Righteous photo! How do you like the Astrolux? I heard it doesn't last long on high or gets too hot like too many cases of meltage/burns. You said it perfectly in the sense that looking to use the Prince as a walking dog light/ explore area at night light and less of an EDC. I like the Olight SR2 for EDC but wanted something more powerful that could blind an attacker whether it be human or animal. Living in the mountains has it's pluses but there's always the reminder we can be prey too.

zipsurfWell, 4 LEDs at 2100 Lumens, *HOT* is to be expected. The burns I've read about were from the earlier models. I think Astrolux is addressing that with stepping the lumens down sooner. Of course, wiser use of any high powered light is warranted. Typically, Turbo and High modes are used in short bursts and not long-term. So unless someone walks away from a flashlight that has been left on (or a candle, stove burner, or cigarette for that matter) without responsibly extinguishing it is going to experience negative results. It's kind of their own fault, not the fault of the device. And it goes without saying, this is not intended to be used by children. As for the light, I love it! Yeah, it's not an EDC light. But it's fun to have around the house. Hefty and substantial in the hand.

At $40, I'd go for the Emisar D4 Quad over this any day... one of my favorites; very small with impressive output.

Bought this, it worked for 24 hours and then died. It charges normally but doesn't light on any setting. Thing about a flashlight is it needs to be reliable first, and then versatile. If it doesn't light, the flasher option ain't much use.

$32 shipping to Australia?!! Massdrop shopping prices are normally pretty reasonable, so what's gone wrong here? Shipping for a similar product Massdrop Blue Titanium AAA Flashlight is $3.25. What gives?
