ManggalaI own a pair of MSR7, they're brighter one of the brighter cans I have. Getting these purely for the warm sound.

YakovI like the clarity from msr7, however they do sound bright and sometimes lack the bass. How about the Soundstage? Does the th-x00 has wider soundstage compare to msr7? Do you think th-x00 is a good deal?

ManggalaNot too sure about 'good deal' 450 is the most I'm ever going to spend on headphones.

BasePlateYour the first person to say the th-x00 don't have a good soundstage. Most reviewer say it almost have the soundstage comparable to an open design.Do you own them?

Pierre111He may be repeating what ZeosPantera said in his review (I was right). He claims they have absolutely zero soundstage and that all the sound is crammed inside your head. He compared the Denon AH-5000's and 7000's to them today and said choose Denon for soundstage because X-00's have none.

BasePlateInteresting... from the first few reviews on Head-fi: - "Soundstage is large and effortless. It won't compete with my HE-1000 and HD800 but for a "closed" headphone it is among the best I've heard." - "The soundstage is pretty immense for its 50mm driver and stock large earcups that don’t have the tightest of seals. We are not talking about a seemingly massive soundstage of the open back and much larger drivers of the HIFIMAN HE1000, but the TH-X00 does a better than average job with regards to conveying a believably natural soundstage." More can be found, so I don't know, I'll have to judge for myself I guess

I don't like his reviews in general, he is Always in the extremes for everything and he is exagerating i find, not just on these. It's always "THE BEST PERIOD" or just NOTHING, that's my opinion, it doesn't feel realistic to me, When he start raving about something it's like he own the truth and there is never a gray area, no subtleties, it suck, or it's pure gold, products are never like that. But to each it's own, I know, who I am to criticize, right? I have nothing against the Guy, it's just not my style of review I count on. By the way doesn't mean he is wrong about soundstage, just that there are conflicting opinion out there.

Pierre111I get your point, and I agree with you to a degree, there is no grey zone with him only black or white, and that's a big problem. However... if something is bad in headphones he actually says so, unlike other reviewers on YouTube. Which is why I rather take his word instead of others, because at the very least if something is bad, he will say so. But to be fair if a review (doesn't matter who made the review) praises a product too much and there isn't a balance of cons and pros, I wouldn't take his word even if it's Zeos.

BasePlateTrue, there are actually reviewers that get paid to praise a product, or at least receive very nice gifts and don't want to burn the provider, And indeed, that's worst Z doesn't sound like that.

BasePlateTo illustrate my point, My gym and sports headphones are the Koss PortaPros, à 40$ headset that I like and have many qualities, but THIS is a headphone with zero soundstage. If he was reviewing the Koss, then you can say there is zero soundstage and that would be accurate. Soundstage is created by the mix Engineer, and headphones, can be judged on how accuratly it represent it or if it exaggerate it, make it artificially wider, etc. There is no way a pair of headphone of the quality of the Fostex will make this soundstage 100% dissapear, the Portapro, yes, you have no sense of space. But a 50 mm driver of great precision, able to reproduce every subtleties of the music will at least represent this sense of space with some accuracy. In can lack in this departement, it will be not as good as open can, and by a large margin less than stereo speakers. Saying it as ZERO, just doesn't make any sense and immediatly lose credibility. If he was talking about the Porta-pros...OK

ZokuneiI see, both are linked, but then he should talk about a small soundstage, If the elements are accurately positioned in term of image, to me, it mean an intimate presentation, a small soundstage, but yeah we know that it will not be wide sounding, they are closed can we know what to expect, anyway, what do I know, haven't heard them, I just think sometimes he misses some sense of nuance

BasePlateI have the d7000s as well as the thx00 and I would agree that the d7000 is the superior headphone in every conceivable way. It also cost 2.5 times the cost of these when it was new so it's hardly a fair comparison. These sound a lot more like the th600 which to me sounded like a slightly milder more toned-down d7000
