Received these today. No cosmetic issues that I could see, though admittedly my ears are better than my eyes. I am a newbie to the audiophile world, and my first pair of quality cans was the Audeze EL-8s. I also purchased the red AKG Massdrop exclusive, which I really like and consider a "fun" headphone. I enjoy many genres of music, but mostly listen to rock, pop, and "alternative" (whatever that means). I also enjoy hip hop, EDM jazz and classical. The EL-8s are my favorite for instrumental music and hi res audio files, but I have to say that for CD quality rock and pop, I am so far enjoying the TH-XOOs the most of the 3 headphones I own. They have more of a V-shaped sound profile than the EL-8s (I like bass), but are more detailed than the AKGs (which were admittedly half the price of the TH-X00s)
