Just got mine today Serial 1703, the bubble marks present on both sides but in a small part close to the logo (a zone as big as an american quarter coin). I Was suprised that my Package arrived without a single scratch on the box and it Went through DHL >USPS>POBOX DELIVERY Service to México >FedEx to my home town.
They are extremely comfortable, had no issue with the earcup , i was expecting that to be an issue but turned out perfect, Very light to the point of not feeling them after a few minutes. Heat build up is present but bearable for hours.
Using my SCHIIT stack (magni2uber/modi2) and my Oppo HA2 as dac/amp all i can say is...FUN, absolutely FUN. Punchy well controlled and Extended Bass, crisp mids and detail highs without harshness. The sound stage is wider than i expected (wider than my HD 600 and they are an open back...), extremely easy to drive, had to set my gain switch to Low , which makes a huge dissapointment the choice of lenght and non detachable cable from MD and FOstex designers so it can be more mobile around the house connected to my phone.
Compared to my HD 8 DJ from Sennheiser they are way better at delivering exciting EDM, Electro, Psycho music. When i bought the HD8 i was expecting THx00 sound so now i am considering selling my hd8 dj..
Against my planars (HE400i and Oppo PM3) not as crisp and less detailed at mid and highs, but the bass remained superior on THx00. Overall they are not for your analytical taste, but hel they are here for fun. Funk and Disco get a real benefit from these.
In conclussion, they went above my expectations, and speaking for myself i really thank massdrop for helping me get this wonderful and beatiful pair of can. Yes we had some issues with the bubbles (easily solved) and the caos with the mixed discussion boards, but i trust you guys will learn from this experience and feedback given toi polish it up.
Will continue to use this great service.
