Got my pair of these yesterday, and have now listened them for 2-3 hours or so through Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus as well as Little Dot Mk III amps. Initial feeling is very positive! Nice looking indeed, surprisingly light and comfortable. Nice, sweet and perhaps a bit 'polite' sound, good soundstage (but not as good as my open HiFiman planars). Nice thick cable with high quality feel, even though quite long for my desktop type use.
Two less-than-great things i.m.h.o.: 1. isolation of external noise not that great compared to other closed-back phones, 2.
there's a ton of bass but it's quality feel like artificially boosted, like it's difficult to hear the exact bass note. Perhaps after some burn-in this will improve. Or perhaps this amount of bass is perfect for listening in lower volumes, as I tend to do while working in office.
All in all, very happy with the purchase.
hiilariIt can also be considered semi-closed as you can see there is an intentional space between the cups and the metal rings. But saying that its semi-closed could be a stretch as it does not leak as much sound as conventional semi-closed cans.
