Just received my TH-X00 a few hours ago (west coast / Vancouver). Excited that they passed through the Canadian Border duty free (phew!). Been listening to them using a Sony PHA-2, so far so good & loving them thus far!

HouseLol...I was a little worried about getting another $80 tagged on...They did have extra items: COD Amount and Door Tag Pickup on the tracking number, so I was expecting duty. Thankfully CP dropped it off and no extra duty fees...I was like yes! Christmas came early.

CaptainCanuckIndeed, good stuff dude. Most likely the guy forgot to check COD Amount and wanted to just head home after the drop. Christmas came early indeed. :D

CaptainCanuckMine showed missed delivery and tag left... but when I got home there was no tag anywhere on the door/mailbox/front yard. But tracking status showed ready for pickup at my local P.O. so I went there with my tracking # and ID and picked it up. Oddly enough... on the mailing label on the box it listed $26.88 Taxes and $10 COD fee... but the person didn't ask me for money, just gave me the box and was already serving the next person (there was a long line behind me). *Shrug* Maybe they'll bill me later like how FedEx and UPS do sometimes.
Here's a couple pics of mine:

It's hard to capture the color correctly because of the wood texture, it changes color depending on the view angle, kind of like those chameleon type paints. Let's just say it's very, very pretty.
Like a few others have mentioned, my left cord is also twisted. There's no way to untwist it without dismantling the left cup. I'll just leave it for now.
Man, the bass on these. :D I'm usually an open-back headphone guy but I do have a pair of AKG K550 that I use at work for the isolation. Initial impression, these smoke the K550 in terms of bass.

CaptainCanuckI live in Vancouver and Canada Post is telling me to pick up the package but no location. I called my local post office and they say my package is not in their system. I think Canada post has lost my package.

HappyNewNyaaThis happened to me to. The tracking number online isn't the same one the post office uses. I luckily am known to the local office and asked if they had anything in COD for me and he went and found it in the back.

AvroArrowI see in the pics you uploaded that you are running the BiFrost + Asgard 2 stack. How does the TH-X00 sound on that Schiit stack? Would love to know your thoughts as I'm thinking of upgrading to that exact DAC/Amp combo.

Snap1976The TH-X00 sound really nice on my... Schiit A-B stack? I've got the slightly older Bifrost Uber USB, not the fancy new multibit version. That being said, I've also tried them with my SB X-Fi+JDS O2 setup (for gaming) and while there are some differences, you'd have to be listening pretty hard to familiar music to pick up the differences. I also tried them on an Audioengine D1 (which has like 1/10th the power of the Asgard 2) that I use at work and they sound pretty good off that too.
These really are easy to drive headphones. They don't scale up as dramatically as say, the AKG K702 65th Annies that I have. Those scale up linearly from the D1> O2> Asgard 2 noticeably. These Fostex do get a bit better with more power, but not dramatically. If I had to pick something, it would be that the bass is tighter, not as loose as on the weaker amps. At least that's what I hear. YMMV since everyone's hearing is a bit different.

AvroArrowThanks so much for the reply. I think I'm sold. It's not only the TH-X00 that pikes my interest for the Schiit A-B stack. I also have the Beyer DT880's (250 ohm) in my rotation and I'm eyeing off the Audeze LCD-2 too. But it's cool that you are liking the sound of the TH-X00 on the stack as that's another tick in the box. Thanks again.

Snap1976My co-worker has the DT880 Premium 32ohm at work with a Schiit Vali. The Vali helped mellow out what I'd consider a V-shaped sound a bit, but the DT880 is still too V-shaped for my tastes. The TH-X00 is a more... flattened V compared to the DT880. The bass is nicer and the treble isn't as harsh to my ears as the 880, and the mids are better too. I was worried that the Fostex would sound too V-shaped for my tastes since I was buying them blind so to speak. The gamble paid off for me this time. ;)
Have your considered the MM2U stack? Spec wise it's not very far off from the new A-B stack at less than half the price (1/3 if you were considering the Multibit Bifrost). If it was available when I bought my old A-B stack, I probably would have bought the MM2U stack instead and spent the extra money on the Vali and some headphones. Granted, I haven't listened to the MM2U stack so I can't comment on how different it sounds from the A-B stack.

AvroArrowSo you would get the MMU stack plus a Vali? I was debating between the magni 2 uber or Vali 2 thinking it may be fun to have more options with tubes and it doesn't cost that much more, but wasn't sure if the TH-x00s would work well with tubes.
