So mine FINALLY arrived after being in a Belgian warehouse for 14 days before they were checked & cleared by Belgian customs in a day. ( Extra costs are 120.61 € btw for those that are interested ) They look fantastic. Mine are really dark & have a lot of wood grain texture. Left & right are matched audibly & visually. I Love it. The split cables are also nice and straight, and I really don't notice the gap & lack of wood finish like some do. It's a lot lighter than it looks. The ear cups fit perfectly, which is a huge relief. So far they seem comfortable.
I'm withholding judgement for the sound atm. My initial impressions are that they sound much clearer in one sense but muddier in another sense. I don't have expensive headphones like these lying around, but I do have an AKG K240 MKII. There is a definite improvement in the lows. Each type of sound is far better defined. It's like you can hear each single sound standing out, whereas with the K240 they blend more together. At the same time I'm feeling like with the Fostex each sound is missing something. But it might just be that I'm not used to it because it sounds so different in some ways.
Aside from music, I've booted up DOOM in one of the hell levels. When the demonic voice recites the prophecy it sounds amazing. I'll update my impressions once I feel that I can better judge these.

ZerrethThanks for the tax info :). For the Grace design M9XX DAC/amp it is 155.75€. Imports from USA are always taxed in Belgium from experience. With the french customs it seems to often go through unnoticed (from what I read on french forums). How long did it take for you from end of drop until delivery ?

ZerrethThanks. So it took around 3 weeks between shipping and delivery in Belgium (I ordered the DAC M9XX, it took 19 days between pick up in Colorado and delivery in Brussels, but I sent proof of purchase to the customs without being notified, when I saw it was on hang there already for one week). Did you have to give the customs further info too ? By the way, really beautifull wood colours and texture on your cans, the mahogany is really well treated by Fostex.

oliwekBecause it took so long I sent them all information. It wasn't that they required more information, it just sat in a BPost warehouse for almost 2 weeks, probably because customs is backlogged so hard. (?) So when they got my info, they informed me that they had not received my package yet. Contacting BPost via Twitter they then told me it would arrive at customs the next day. Makes you wonder if I hadn't asked via twitter if it would still be in that warehouse today. I'll also add that the customs charges were: 30€ for Formalities, Import Charges: 84.42€, Customs Rights: 7.29€ I have no Idea how they got to those numbers. By my calculations it should have been 10€ less.

ZerrethWhen I called bpost to enquire about the package staying at the customs for already one week, the girl told me to send all available info, but that it could take anyway 2 more weeks before delivery (which means : 3 weeks at the customs, just so bpost evaluate a package, whose value is written on it anyway). About how they calculate, it's a pity : see https://www.bpost.be/site/fr/residential/parcels/international/Frais_suppl_paquets_internationaux.pdf (if the item + shipping is above 150€, you have to pay 30€ just for their administrative work ; if the item+shipping is around 400 or 500€ you pay around 1/3 of this amount in import taxes + VAT + bpost work). This is really expensive, so I don't see why they are so slow and do not hire more workers to get the job done. More and more people buy abroad with Internet. I also can't believe that they let us pay import taxes not on the sole value of the item(s) imported, but on the shipping too !
