4Sevens is the only flashlight company I personally don't recommend.
I purchased a Ti Preon 2 when they released. My first RMA was when the light just randomly died for no reason. 4Sevens replaced the head with a scratched and dinged up refurbished one. Wasn't very happy, but at least it worked.
Then the tail switch became faulty soon after. Sometimes it'd come on and sometimes not, and the light would randomly turn off if shook. I had to ship the light back multiple times with them telling me each time that they couldn't find anything wrong with the light. Since I was shipping from Canada, it took few weeks for each trip back and I paid out of my pocket for it.
I finally had to record video evidence of the faulty light right out of the shipping package they returned to me, which made them agree to send me a replacement switch. No big surprise, the replacement switch they sent looked like they pulled it off one of the lights they had in their pockets.
I was a strong supporter of 4Sevens and David Chow when they first launched and bought a number of them as gifts for others, but after hearing some horror stories with their customer service and then experiencing them myself, it's one of the companies I actively avoid.
I suppose the only positive side with this drop is that if something goes wrong, Massdrop will likely take care of you.

guvnorI have a couple 4 seven lights from years ago when they started. haven't bought anymore since. The two or three lights I ordered were fine, but fit and finish was just a step behind fenix products at that time. I also ordered a couple 18650 batteries and I was sent used loose batteries that had wear from being inside flashlights and scuffs and dents from rolling around on countertops and who knows what. The contact points were worn from other people's flashlight springs. Sending customers refurbished parts as part of warranty service sucks but even gerber and buck knives do this. Sending obviously used old stock to someone who placed a new order is just an amateur business practice that is not smart especially considering the consumer group that purchases high performance flashlights. Every flaw in manufacturing fit and finish will be publicized on the flashlight forums, and the purchasers of these items are on a whole anal about fit and finish (at least I am). Not a smart business practice is all I'm saying and I haven't bought a 4 sevens product for the last 7 years.
