I did receive the Fox Karambit, thankfully. I had to pay an additional $36CAD in duties and taxes (based on an import value of $143CAD). I should consider myself lucky to have received this item at all.
With the US imposing duties on its commercial allies, and the resulting retaliatory duties in return, I don't think it will be economically feasible for me to continue shopping at MD. It was a good ride while it lasted.
The Bestech knife is still being seized as a "prohibited weapon". I have submitted an appeal to reclassify the knife, but I think that will just be a loss for me.

TriaedI received my FOX599... But your YMMV. Anything assisted is now considered prohibited. Hell, my Spydercos' Spydey Hole could be considered an "assist"

BuckfutterWell, "assisted" normally is identified by a spring that helps deploy the blade. If thrbuser is abled, then the advantage is that it opens more quickly or easily, but if the user is disabled and needs the assurance of the spring to open the blade they are effed.
The Spidey hole is not considered an assist as per the criminal (flipper tabs are), BUT it is is all left to the CBSA agent's interpretation... which is why my karambit got through and not a Bestech Hornet!

Buckfutterlol what does the bird eye hole on the 599 make any difference from the Spydie hole? If you are saying that customs might even seize Spydercos then why did your 599 went through?

TriaedAny knife with a emerson wave feature on it (the hook on the blade that catches the pants that allows a one handed deploy) will be ceased according to what you claim happened. Due to the CBSA rules it appears you just lost yourself another knife.

JerryConnNope, I got the karambit with the speed wave. It is up there in my update from a few months back.
Which is a very clear indication that inconsistency and subjective interpretation are the key operating procedure and what we should expect from the CBSA in their quest to protect Canadian morals

As for everyone else telling you to move from Canada, they have overlooked how draconian the US is, for example, TSA seizes a great many sharp edged objects as well as tactical pens.
