Bah...I was in on this drop until I realized it was the larger one. I'll stick with my Tarani 5.11 until a 599 Fox comes up or I just buy one direct from the retailer.
Lt.DanApparently, the original was produced with wrong measurements. Units didn't get converted properly or something. Awhile later, they fixed this and produced a smaller one, labeling the original as XXL. It really isn't that big of a deal to get the original, as it has a slightly bigger blade and has maybe half an inch more reach when holding it in a traditional reverse grip. I have decently large hands, and I can definitely see how the original is big for your hand, but it is still very comfortable and entirely usable for someone with my size hands or smaller. My computer is about to restart automatically for updates, but after is resets I'll post some images to demonstrate the fit in my hand.
EDIT:
Here is me holding the knife so my hand fills the entire grip. You can see that the knife is canted back a little bit.

Here is me holding it so my fingers are snug and close together. My pinky finger rests perfectly inside the ridge. After opening the knife using the wave or after flipping the knife around, this is the position it naturally lands in.

Lt.DanI uploaded the pictures to my google drive. Here is the link to picture 1: http://goo.gl/bRGJB7

In picture one the only reason my finger isn't all the way through the hole is because of the angle I had to twist my hand to take the picture. I'll finish by saying that this is my favorite knife, and is extremely high quality. It is also extremely quick to open when you use the wave feature. I would recommend it to anybody who wants a reliable knife for everyday carry, self defense or just for utility purposes. Malaysians originally designed the curved blade of the karambit as a utility tool for farmers and workers.
If you or anybody else has any questions regarding this knife, feel free to ask and I'll explain or post pictures and videos. I know there isn't much information on this knife, and I kinda bought it blind because I couldn't find many comprehensive reviews, but I was not disappointed. Good night everyone!
Cyleleghorni also ordered the XXL version by accident. i have long but skinny fingers (slenderman status) so my pinky doesn't even each the right spot on the blade.
however, the extra heft and length is worth it, especially when closed. watch some vids of kuya doug demonstrating the usefulness of the fox karambit -- if you haven't already, it'll blow your mind.
if you haven't guessed already, i am extremely pleased with my purchase.
