For the uninitiated who have no ideas about the laws of Australia, Fsources, AABCDS, this blade is not illegal at least in New South Wales. This style of folding knife is sold in hunting and disposal stores around the state and I have imported them online in the past. Don't appreciate mass-drop ignoring requests for this (and a previous knife drop i am aware of) to be extended to Australia.
If it is seized by customs that is a risk to be accepted by the purchaser.
There is a mindset in this country that if something looks scary it is or should be illegal - talk like this is narrow minded and only encourages a protectionist approach. Do everybody a favour and if you do not know about something and do not comment on it.
Read sub-section 1 of schedule 1 of the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998 (NSW) below, and be educated:
Part 2 : Item 16
Single handed opening knives, being knives that have a blade folded or recessed into the handle which is capable of being opened by gravity, inertia or centrifugal force.
The importation must comply with at least one of the following tests:
(a) the official purposes test; (b) the specified purposes test; (c) the dealer test; (d) the returned goods test; (e) the public interest test; (f) the national interest test.
30 seconds into the Youtube video the knife is clearly being opened single handed through inertia.
