What makes this one stand apart from, say, a Tissot leLocle?

FarragoThis is a Swiss company, 50% made in Swiss. They are going for the same market segment as Tissot, however, keep in mind that this company is going out of business (being purchased by Citizen or some other Japanese brand). So aftermarket repair and maintenance might be a problem. But I do have to say for their spec, it's a good deal. Essentially ETA and Sapphire.

peterzhangrnwhere do you come up with this stuff? FC is not going out of business. They were purchased by Citizen and will continue to operate as a subsidiary. This is not pebble being acquired by fitbit and refunding everyone their $$. :-)

FarragoI have Certina and FC with 303 movement, Both are called something like low luxury watch. however in terms of build quality and the movement - FC is a bit better. this watch is on the lower scale of FC cost and it is very well worth it.

peterzhangrnI saw that they were purchased by Citizen, but why on earth would Citizen close the brand down after buying it? They are simply being purchased by a watch conglomerate, no different that Lange, Cartier or IWC (not that FC competes with such brands).
Their after market repair and maintenance will likely be BETTER than before as Citizen will likely expand the brand. This purchase is good for fans of Frédérique Constant.

FarragoI've owned both and the dial, applied markers and polishing on the FC is superior to the Tissot.
Tissot has a nicer engraved case back and better brand recognition however.
Movement and mechanical quality is more or less the same
